Easy Ways to Bring Spring Inside Your Home

That groundhog wasn’t lying. There is a winter storm bearing down on us as I type. OK, that may be a bit dramatic, but it is snowing and we are expected to get around 6 inches. Totally reasonable New England weather for early February.

Along with stocking up on the usual pre-storm provisions, I meant to get tulips to place around my house to give it some much-needed cheer and a whiff of spring. The Christmas decorations have long been put away but my winter decorations are still out.  Frankly, I’m tired of the winter greens and berries. I’m ready for some bright pops of color.  Who’s with me?

In addition to vases full of colorful spring bulbs and bowls of bright citrus, I’ve been searching the web for the most spring-like home decorations I can find to brighten up my space — yours as well, if the fancy strikes.

Here are three quick, easy hits to brighten up your space in anticipation of spring days: pillows, wreaths and welcome mats.

Even if you’re not in the market for spring home decor, just looking at all the pretty colorful things will be sure to cheer you up on this very gray February day.

Tomorrow, I’ll store all the winter greens and berries in the attic. I’ll pack away my winter throws and pillows and replace them lighter, more colorful ones. And when
it finally stops snowing, I’ll go and buy some much-craved tulips. Maybe I’ll even pot some herbs for the kitchen window.
Let me know in the comments if you’re getting spring fever too and what you are doing to honor that feeling.
